Here is my 1/48 scale Messerschmitt Bf 109 E-7N/Trop built using
Hasegawa item No. J3
I built this kit several years ago, straight from the box, without
difficulties. A typical Hasegawa kit from the 1990's, excellent and
enjoyable.
The only after market addition was True Details resin wheels.
Painting,
Markings and Weathering
|
I used only Gunze-Sangyp acrilics, RLM 78 with large RLM 80 blotches
on the upper surface. RLM 78 on the under surface.

The white fuselage band should be wider, according to reference
photos I've got after finished the kit.
Decals
All decals are from the box. The I/JG 27 badger on the right side of
the engine hood should be a little further forward than the instructions
show, according to the same reference photo.
Weathering
After the decal set overnight, I applied a wash of dark brown
acrylic, sealed with a coat of matt varnish, and brushed with pastel
chalks sand colors - black for the exhausts (brown with light grey
should be better, as I'm doing nowadays).
Phtoos were taken under natural day light (total is raining, the light
isn't so good, I had poor focus) using a Sony DCR-DVD 505 camera in a
tripod.

A landscape picture was used for the background.
