Crisply moulded in very pale
yellow resin Pavla has captured in 1/72 scale all the detail contained
in the full size real thing. In this review I cover four extra detail
parts for the Mirage IV, Jaguar A, USSR aircraft Guns and a MB. MK-1W6A
ejection seat. The parts have a small amount of residual resin flash
that is easily removed with a sharp hobby knife.
Assembly is straightforward with
no apparent modification required of the kit plastic to allow the new
parts to fit except for the Jaguar A detail set. Modellers with very
little modelling skills could install these detail sets.
The sets reviewed are:
U 72-84 Jaguar A main wheel
and cannon bay for the Hasegawa kit
This detail set contains twelve resin parts to
make up the nose wheel well and cannon bays. This set has amazing
detail and has to be seen to be believed. This kit will require
modification of the Hasegawa kit to install.
U 72-85 Mirage IV Recon Pod
CT 52 for the Heller Kit
This detail set contains nine
resin parts - the main pod and eight individual camera lenses.
U 72-81 USSR aircraft guns
WWII
This detail set contains six
resin parts. 1 x ShKAS Mk 34 7.62mm, 1 x ShVAK 20mm, 1 x Berezin UB
12.7, 1 x Berezin UB 12.7mm, 1x ShKAS KM-35 7.62mm, and 1 x Dyegtyaryev
DA 7.62 mm gun. The detail on these guns is very fine and crisp.
S 72044 Martin Baker MK-1W6A ejection seat for the Fiat G.91 and
Aeromacchi 326 Impala.
In summary, these are very nice
upgrades to increase the detail in these kits and will look very
realistic when fully assembled and painted.
All Highly Recommended
