Special Hobby's 1/72 scale Avro Anson Mk.I is available online from Squadron
It has been some time since I have built an aircraft kit, and though not my strongest subject, when I was asked by a good friend of mine to build this kit,I took on the project without hesitating.
The kit is the EE Lightning in 1/48 scale from Airfix, and has been built as the F.1A variant in the markings of No 56 Squadron, Royal Air Force, 1963.
It was completely painted in Citadel paints, designed for painting Warhammer miniatures. I found out from a good friend that these can be mixed with acrylic thinners and put through an airbrush without trouble. I found that a little bit of mucking around was needed before getting the right consistancy, but all went well once the mix was right.
I was very pleased with the metalic colors that I believe have the right sheen to give a realistic scale effect.
All painting was done with a Badger Velocity airbrush. which is new on the market and is an excellent item, well worth its money.
Once all painted up I then applied the kit decals that went on really well and conformed well to the surface of the kit.
I really enjoyed building this kit, and am now feeling inspired to start another aircraft project. I hope you enjoy the images.
