Academy's 1/48 scale
T-33 Shooting Star

by Tim Holwick

T-33 Shooting Star

Academy's 1/48 scale T-33 Shooting Star is available online from Squadron

Description

The 1/48 scale T-33 Academy kit suffers from an incorrect fusalage shape immediately before the engine inlets. This area should be flat and demonstrate a clear distinction between it and the curvature of the forward fusalage around it.

However, it is otherwise a nice kit that goes together easily with very good fit.

I used Alclad Grey Primer that was highly polished. Then I applied Alclad Aluminum with a wide tip Badger Crescendo airbrush.

As this was a commission build, I did not weather the model, but rather applied many thin cotes of Future to produce a high gloss finish as per my clients request.

Decals used are from Bare Metal Foil inc.
