FirstLook

Xtradecal continues to produce excellent quality decals. They have produced yet another fine quality decal sheet, this time depicting two English Electric Lightning F.6 aircraft schemes for aircraft based at 56 and 111 Sqn in the Natural Metal schemes.

The decals are superbly printed and they have good colour saturation and are in perfect register.  As usual with Xtradecal products the carrier film is ultra thin and should snuggle down well into the surface detail.

The two schemes provided are as follows:

  1. EE(BAC) Lightning F.6, XS897/S of No 56 Sqn based at RAF Akrotiri, Cyprus in 1973.  This aircraft is finished in all over natural metal.  A large firebird or phoenix is painted on the tail.  The national roundel on the nose has the Sqn red and white chequered pennant on each side.

  2. EE(BAC) Lightning F.6, XS895/Z of No 111 Sqn based at RAF Wattisham in 1974.  This aircraft is finished in all over natural metal.  A large black circle with a yellow cross, scimitars and crossed swords is painted on the tail.  The national roundel on the nose has large lightning bolts painted on each side.

No data decals are supplied with this sheet as these are available separately on Xtradecals sheet No X32-019.

Thanks to Hannants for the review sample
