Xtradecal has released a fine quality decal sheet depicting the three English Electric Lightning F.6 aircraft schemes for aircraft based at 5 and 11 Sqn, and the LTF based at RAF Binbrook in the Green/Grey camouflage scheme.
The decals are superbly printed and they have good colour saturation and are in perfect register. As usual with Xtradecals the carrier film is ultra and will snuggle down into the surface detail well.
The three schemes provided are as follows
-
EE(BAC) Lightning F.6, XS903/BC of No 11 Sqn based at RAF Binbrook in 1980 – 81. This aircraft is finished in BS381C:241 Dark Green and BS381C:638 Dark Sea Grey upper surfaces and natural metal under surfaces. Twin black eagles are painted on the tail fin and Sqn colour pennants on each side of the nose roundel.
-
EE(BAC) Lightning F.6, XS903/C of No 5 Sqn based at RAF Binbrook in 1977-78. This aircraft is finished in BS381C:241 Dark Green and BS381C:638 Dark Sea Grey upper surfaces and natural metal under surfaces. A green maple leaf inside the red number five is painted on the tail fin and Sqn colour pennants on each side of the nose roundel.
-
EE(BAC) Lightning F.6, XS903 of the Lightning Training Flight based at RAF Binbrook in September 1979. This aircraft is finished in BS381C:241 Dark Green and BS381C:638 Dark Sea Grey upper surfaces and natural metal under surfaces. A prowling black lion is painted on the tail fin and Sqn colour pennants on each side of the nose roundel.
No data decals are supplied with this sheet as these are available separately on Xtradecals sheet No X32-019.
