Eduard's 1/48 scale Fw 190 D-9 is available online from Squadron
Type: Focke-Wulf Fw 190 D-9
Scale: 1/48
Producer: Trimaster / DML
Modifications / Additions:
-
The kit has been bought from an other member of model club in which I am member. It is a mix of the Trimaster kit (photo etched parts, white metal parts for ETC, Trimaster instruction) and the DML Kit (plastic landing gear)
-
Use of Model Design Constructions correction set for wheel well including the rear part of the engine .
-
MDC resin cockpit to replace the original photo etched and flat original cockpit
-
Spinner and propeller blades from MDC
-
Flaps from Qickboost
-
Tubes for brakes added by means of brass wire
-
Pushing rods for motor cowling flaps added.
Finishing started with pre shading with Tamiya's black acrylic paint. For the camouflage scheme RLM76, RLM75, RLM81 and RLM83 of X-Tra colors have been used.
Markings have been taken from Kommandeur Decals. For stenceling the original kit decals have been used because their print is more clear and readable . The model displays FW 190 D-9, SerialNo. 211934 allocated to the technical officer of II. JG6. This plane has been landed by an unknown pilot on may, 8th 1945 on Fürth ( Bay.) Airfield to surrender.
Although designed for other basic kits (MDC for Tamiya and Quickboost for Eduard) the used upgrade / correction sets can be used without any problems to upgrade the old Trimaster / DML kit of the FW 190 D-9.
