Here is my Roden 1/48 scale SE5a "McCudden".
In one of the photos you can see the small pulley wheels ,under the cellon windows in the tailplane. Also I've added the fuel lines, coming from the tank in the upper wing section (pic 2) running down the strutts and crossing over to the engine cowl. Replacement brass plumbing, scratch-built "Aldiss sight", and brackets to hold Lewis. Scale Aluminium foot-plates. I also pinched a Cross and Ring sight, for the Vickers, from another kit .
Also note the SE5a has double wires for the most part (twice as many as the Albatros or Pfalz!) Probably the " Belt and Braces" approach to aircraft construction by the Government factory (RAF).
The "Blue-White" wheel hubs, were applied to "B" Flight shortly after they got the SE5a, that spring. There's a photo of Rhys-Davids crashed aircraft, taken a month after the scrap with Voss, and they are still there.. which more than suggests that they had them that day Germany lost it's greatest ace.
