MPM's 1/72 scale Sea Vixen available online from Squadron
Here is MPM's 1/72 scale de Havilland Sea Vixen.
My model depicts a Sea Vixen FAW 1 of the RN Test Squadron in Yeovilton, flown there in the early seventies. After seeing the striking appearance of this aircraft at the kits camouflage options, it was clear, I had to build this one.
The plastic parts of this mixed media kit and their parts breakdown are a little bit crude, the cockpit area and the wheel wells are lacking nearly any details - even for this scale it is too little. So I had to do a some scratch-work with left over etched parts, needles and wires.
I used the kit decals, which were very pleasant to apply. Painting was done with Gunze Acrylics.
If you are interested in the building process, take a look at the workbench area at the JAM Forum.
