Tamiya's 1/48 scale Aichi M6A1 Seiran is available onine from Squadron

Here is my 1/48 scale Tamiya Seiran.

I used the AIRES cockpit set, Verllinden engine upgrade set and added some scratchbuilt details plus a pair of Eduard seat belt, just to try the famous hair sray technik.

Painting process:

• A layer of Alclad "aluminium" and the then maskol patches.

• The second layer is tamiya red hull ( to simulate the IJN anti corrosion primer) and here again patches of Maskol...
  Then the most difficult, the orange. Tamiya X-6. The worst paint I ever used....

• Now 2 thin layers of hair spray, 5 or 10 minutes drying and I spayed deep green XF-26 and retouch it with many darker and lighter shade of it. Verticaly on the fuselage and downwind on the wings.

• At last,not later than 1/2 hour after the deep green was sprayed, I removing the Maskol and I brush this last layer with warm water to peel it.

The rest of weathering is classic...
