Conclusion

Detail is very good, and casting is perfect. Timing is impeccable too, coming as it does at the same time as the release of Tamiya's exquisite 1/32 scale Birdcage Corsair. Highly Recommended.

Master Details is an American after-market manufacturer that offers accessories and figures for 1/32 aircraft across all eras from WWI to modern.

Recently, Master Details has expanded its seated pilot range with standing figures.

Their newest in this range is a 1/32 scale U.S. Navy / Marines Fighter Pilot WWII Tropical.

The figure is presented in three perefectly cast grey parts - the body and legs as one piece plus two separate arms - and three more in white metal. The white metal parts are two heads - one with a baseball cap and one in summer-style 1092-S flight helmet - and the separate helmet chin strap.

The pilot wears the tropical short uniform with early style Mae West life vest, officer's shoes and web belt with holstered .45 calibre pistol and magazine pouch.

I used one of Master's seated aircraft in my 1:32 scale Mustang a year or so ago, and was impressed with its detail and authenticity. It was fun to paint too.

This new release is equally good and, being a standing figure, you'll be able to see even more of him outside the model. Detail is very good, and casting is perfect.

Timing is impeccable too, coming as it does at the same time as the release of Tamiya's exquisite 1/32 scale Birdcage Corsair.

Highly Recommended.
