Eduard's Limited Edition 1/48 scale Lavochkin La-5FN is available online from Squadron

Here's my latest - Eduard's Limited Edition 1/48 scale Lavochkin La-5FN. The sprues are from Zvezda's kit, with Eduard photo-etch, resin wheels, masks and beautiful Cartograf decals.

This is a really nice kit, and even better with Eduard's enhancements.

The model features a detailed interior, including authentic fuselage frames and an engine. The build was pain-free right up to the point of fitting the cowling panels and threading the exhausts through the fuselage sides, which proved to be fiddly.

I replaced the rear canopy section with the Falcon vac-form part, designed for the Hobbycraft kits but adapted for use here.

One of the photos is posed alongside my Tamiya 1/48 scale GAZ-MM anti-aircraft conversion finished last week.

The model is available direct from Eduard's website and from hobby retailers online and worldwide.

I'll be writing this one up for a detailed article in Issue 37 of Military Illustrated Modeller.
