Here is my build of a test shot from the forthcoming new-tool Spitfire Mk.Vb, due for release later this year. Please note that this is not a reissue of the 1970s vintage kit, but an all-new Airfix tooling.

My build is from option 1 in the box, 'Buck' McNair's Vb, 249 (Gold Coast) Squadron, defence of Malta, March 1942, apparently delivered in Dark Earth and Middle Stone, the latter oversprayed with a 'locally mixed grey' (let the debates ensue lol) - option 2 being the preserved Vb at Duxford, currently painted in the markings of 317 Squadron.

A detailed article will appear in the August issue of Airfix Model World, out on Thursday 3 July.
