True Details' 1/48 Weber F-101 Ejection Seats are available online from Squadron.com
The 1/48 Monogram F-101 is a kit that has been around for a long time. As with many kits of this vintage, they can be found residing in the dark corners of the modelers stash unloved and abandoned. In some cases they’ve been superseded by recent kits with all of the bells and whistles. To bring these older kits to life some minor details may be all that is need to help make them pop. True Details has addressed that issue by providing us a pair of Weber ejection seats specifically made for the Monogram kit. Talk about a confidence booster!
As recently reviewed for the F-106 seat these one piece seats are again cast without flaw. The benefit with this pair of seats is that though the seats frames are identical the patterns for the seatbelt positions have been slightly altered which is a big positive for this set. How many times have you had a set of identical seats for a two holer? The belts are well defined as are the rest of the details on the seat. There doesn’t seem to be any loss of details on the seat at all. As per the F-106 seat my only gripe is the lack of a painting guide.
It’s great to see a manufacturer realising that not all seats are be identical, well done True Details.
Recommended.
