Hot off the modelling bench, here is the new Airfix 1/48 scale Hawker Hurricane Mk.I.
This is a well-detailed kit with crisp, restrained surface textures including convincing fabric effect on the rear fuselage and control surfaces.
Engineering of the cockpit is very clever, resulting in a realistic depiction of the tubular framing and bottomless floor.

Fit is generally very good, but the inter-relationships between the cockpit, wheel well and wing roots means that you really need to be precise when assembling this kit. It will be unforgiving to sloppy modellers!

The only addition to the model is a set of Eduard colour photo-etched harness straps and decals from Model Alliance Item No. MA-48147, "Hawker Hurricane in RAF and Commonwealth Service Pt.1".
My model was painted using the Testor Aztek airbrush fitted with the "Fine" tan-coloured tip.

This is another great kit from Airfix - in my opinion the best injection-moulded Hurricane in any scale and an enjoyable build.
I'll be writing this one up for a detailed Feature Article in Issue 51 of Military Illustrated Modeller magazine.
Purchased by me from Hannants.
