This is an item I never expected to see in the Barracuda Studios catalogue. As most of you will be familiar with what a mousepad looks like, I’ll pass to Roy Sutherland’s website caption for a detailed description:
This high quality mousepad features a 1/8" thick, heavy duty rubber base with a tightly woven polyester fabric surface. It delivers high speed mousing performance for those marathon Barracuda Studios ordering sessions. The image features a Mosquito PR XVI of 544 Squadron RAF in July of 1944, wearing full D-Day Invasion striping.
The image is in fact a composite photo of one of Roy’s models, a kitbashed Tamiya/Airfix 1/48 PR Mk.XVI that featured in his excellent book “Modelling the De Havilland Mosquito” (Osprey 2005). It’s a striking photo of a beautiful model and aeroplane.
I haven’t used the mousepad while ordering any Barracuda products (sorry Roy) but I can say that it does its job very well. I took mine into work last week to replace a stock mousepad that was sliding around all over the place and annoying me quite a bit. The Barracuda pad has a lovely ‘heavy’ feel to it and doesn’t budge when you’re moving the mouse – lovely.
So far nobody’s commented on the photo, but I know it’s only a matter of time. Highly recommended.
Thanks to Barracuda Studios for the review sample.
