Airfix has recently released an impressive, all new 1/48 scale Meteor F.8 kit.

Xtradecal has added a number of marking options for modellers buying these kits with three new decal sheets. Tonight we are reviewing the second set, Item No. X48159, with markings for seven RAF Meteor F.8s.

 

 

Details are as follows:

  • VZ494 501 Sqn R.Aux.AF RAF Filton 1957;

  • WA962/D 41 Sqn RAF Biggin Hill 1950s;

  • WH456/L 616 Sqn R.Aux.AF RAF Finningley 1950s;

  • WH464/F 504 Sqn R.Aux.AF RAF Wymeswold 1953;WH476/T 89 Sqn RAF Stradishall 1956;

  • WK681/H 65 Sqn Aerobatic Team Duxford 1953;

  • WK815/R Target Towing Sqn RAF Sylt, Germany 1959

One full set of RAF national markings are included too.

Instructions for the decal sheet are in full colour across two folded double-sided A4 sheets. Both side plus upper and lower views are provided for all eight aircraft. Stencils are not included.

 

 

Colour notes are supplied, along with model paint callouts for Xtracolor enamels and Xtracrylix acrylics.

The decals are beautifully printed and feature thin carrier film.
