Meng's 1/48 scale F-35A Lightning II is available online from Squadron for USD$59.99
I have just completed the second of my brand new Tamiya 1/48 scale Spitfire kits. Whereas I finished the first one straight from the box, including decals, this one was converted to a Spitfire PR. Mk.IV.

I used some of the resin parts from Pavla's Item No. U 48-57 Spitfire PR Mk.III, VI, VIII. This is designed for the Airfix kit (probably not the brand new release), but the parts I used fitted okay.

I also added a few after market accessories including a Yahu instrument panel and Eduard STEEL harness straps.
The sliding section of the vac form canopy is from the Falcon Vac Form 1/48 scale Spitfire Special set, while the windscreen was from the Paula set.

The most time consuming part of the conversion was filling and smoothing the wing gun panel lines and leading edge openings.
Decals were sourced from Model Alliance and Xtradecals.

This is a fabulous kit, whether straight from the box or if you are attempting something a bit more exotic!
Thanks to Tamiya for the sample.
