Eduard's 1/48 scale
A6M2 Zero Type 21
by Brett Green
Here is my new Eduard 1/48 A6M2 Zero Type 21 from their Dual Combo Limited Edition boxing.
The model has been built entirely out of the box.

Fit was almost flawless (one tiny gap underneath the port side horizontal tailplane because I did not completely clean up some excess plastic, so my fault), and I really appreciated the inclusion of an assembly jig for the six-part engine cowling.
Surface textures are up to the world class standards of their Spitfires, Mustangs, Wurgers and other new generation releases.

In my opinion the cockpit detail is Eduard’s best effort yet. I actually chose to use a few of the plastic parts instead of colour photo-etch. They looked too nice to be left on the sprues.
The colour photo-etched instrument panel, radio faces, consoles and harnesses are great enhancements for the front office though.
Kit decals were used. I particularly liked the faded red of the meatballs.
This is a superb kit that was a pleasure to build.
I’ll be writing this up for a big two-part article in Model Airplane International magazine Issues 199 and 200.

In the meantime, buy and build with confidence!
Thanks to Eduard for the sample.
