BAM Models has released a set of two 1/48 scale intakes and engine faces designed for the Revell family of Dassault Rafale kits.
The packaging is small but sturdy.
The parts are cast perfectly in grey resin. No imperfections were present on my sample.
The main parts offer seamless intakes to the first compressor fan stage.
Compared to the kit parts, BAM's intake also includes additional interior detail by the way of auxiliary intake and RAM panels.
Exterior detail has been enhanced too - the outline of an additional panel is recessed onto on the port intake, and the gun muzzle and trough have been beautifully depicted on the starboard intake.
The compressor fan parts are ready to install straight from the box.
Although I don't have the Revell kit (I will be correcting that situation soon), the BAM website assures us that this is a drop-fit installtion with no surgery to the kit required.
BAM Models is a new name to me, but I am suitably impressed by their debut release.
This will be an easy but very noticeable upgrade to any of Revell's 1/48 scale Dassault Rafale kits.
