What can we expect of resin parts produced by this new brand from Northeast Brazil? I can tell you, because I got these parts in my hands and already use at least one of them. At first glance you can think that this brand “Fuel Models” is a subsidiary of the mainstream resin aftermarkets parts like Aires, Brassin, Quickboost and others, but no, this is a true Brazilian company. These parts have outstanding quality, they present a flawless casting, with out bubbles or any other defects.
The resin (PU I think) behaves like any other resin used by any resin parts. And yes, definitely the Hobby Boss Tucanos deserves a upgrade at their shoes. Lets see with more detail each one of these sets.
1/48 EMB-312 Tucano Wheels Set for Hobby Boss Kit
1/48 EMB-314 Super Tucano Set for Hobby Boss Kit
Each one of these set are split in 7 parts. Tires, Wheels and nose wheel and tire. We really don’t know why the Hobby Boss messed up so much with these parts in their Tucano family.
When you Google T-27, EMB-312, or Super Tucano, EMB-314, you can find hundreds of detailed pictures of these planes. In the pictures you can check the real deal, the kit parts from Hobby Boss and fuel models parts.
Then you can tell me if they worth it or not.
1/32 P-47 100 gal (75 GAL extended) Drop Tank
Needless to say that we freak about our flying boys in WWII, they did a great job in the ETO, flying hundreds of combat missions in Italy. There they faced a challenging theater of operations, and one of them is the shortage of war material and ground support equipment.
Facing this, the extend 75 gal drop tank merges, to improve the range of the P-47 flown by Brazilian Air Force. I never saw pictures of an American or other nation fighter using this kind of drop tank.
The lack of this part in any kit available in the market is supplied by Fuel Models part, and I can tell you, what a masterpiece.
The part breakdown couldn´t be better, the seam in the halves meet the extension, like in the real one, and this makes the modeler´s life far easy during the build of this part. If you going to build a P-47 using the Brazilian air force markings, this is the part for you, and there no other with this quality in the market.
Like the first parts reviewed, the casting is flawless and bubble free, and it will fit any P-47 kit available, Hasegawa or Trumpeter. An observation, the parts used in this review had the casting gates removed. This drop tank is also available in 1/48 scale!
Highly recommended.
