This monumental decal set will enable the modeller to build just about every RAF aircraft that served in this campaign, should he/she want to!
The double sheets are presented in a zip-lock sleeve and are accompanied by a forty page (!) A5 instruction booklet that makes the sleeve a pretty tight fit. It is the sort of set that would appeal to a group purchase as I would be amazed to see the whole set of 58 aircraft built by a single modeller.
The decals are beautifully printed with great register, colour and density with little carrier film but, while a sheet contains all of the roundels and fin flashes to complete these aircraft, all of the stencils will need to come from the donor kits.
The subjects comprise Tornado GR4/4A ( 29 of them), Tornado F3 (10), Harrier GR.7 (8), Jaguar GR.3 (6), Nimrod (2) and Canberra PR.9 (3); too many individuals to list here! However, sufficient to say that the aircraft have a great variety of squadron markings, pin-up art and some with ‘shark-mouths’, even if most are in rather uninteresting grey schemes, except for the Camouflage Beige (used to be called Hemp {?}) Canberras and Nimrods.
I would suggest a visit to the web-site to find out which aircraft are represented on the sheet. For each example there is a list of accessories from Air-Graphics to enhance or convert the kit.
The full colour instructions give very clear location diagrams for the individual markings and a couple of generic drawings show stencil and generic mark locations. Also useful is a card containing paint colour matches for Humbrol, Xtracolour, Hataka, ModelMaster, Gunze Sanyo, Tamiya and Lifecolor. Interspersed through the booklet are a small number of colour images of the subjects.
This sheet comes highly recommended to those of you who are interested in this campaign and the RAF aircraft that took part in it, probably to be best purchased by a small group of you.
