Barracuda Studio adds to its accessories for the Airfix 1/72 scale Lightning kits (they have already released a lovely cockpit set, Firestreak and Redtop missiles and burner cans) with this new Landing Gear Set.
This set is designed for the Airfix 1/72 scale F.2A and F.6 kits.

Barracuda's 1/72 scale Landing Gear Set supplies nose and main landing gear legs, retraction struts, retraction pistons, undercarriage doors and wheels.

There are nine parts in grey 3d printed resin and ten cream coloured conventionally cast resin parts.

The quality of all the parts is exemplary. I can't find any striations or other printing artefacts on the 3d printed parts..

Detail is crisp and surface textures are flawless.

Check out these photographs comparing the detail on the plastic Airfix landing gear legs and doors with the Barracuda resin parts.

Barracuda parts are to the left and Airfix to the right. Say no more.

Printing and casting quality is superb and cleanup should be pretty straightforward for anyone who has worked with 3d printed and conventional resin parts before.

Detailed instructions are offered as a download from Barracuda Studios' website.
Text is accompanied by captioned photographs of the resin parts under construction.

The resin parts are pretty much a drop-fit replacement for the kit's plastic parts, albeit with noticeably superior detail.
