Barracuda Studios has released a bunch of new resin replacement accessories for the very nice 1/72 scale Airfix PR Mk.XVI & B Mk.XVI Mosquito kits.

They are:

BR72462 - Mosquito B Mk XVI Vacform Canopy

BR72463 - Mosquito PR Mk XVI Vacform Canopy

These vacform canopies are thinner and clearer than the injection moulded canopies supplied with the Airfix kit.

This will be especially useful for the PR Mk.XVI with the prominent astrodome blister on the top of the canopy.

Instructions are supplied, including some hints and tips for working with vacform canopies.

If you are a fan of vacform canopies, these will be a must for your Mosquito Mk XVI kits.

BR72464 - Mosquito Slotted Mainwheels - Block

BarracudaCast's new slotted main wheels are 3d printed and beautifully detailed - little jewels in 1/72 scale.

Raised lettering and seams are cast onto the sidewalls, while the five slot wheel hubs are crisply rendered.

Cleanup will be fast and easy.

BR72466 - Mosquito Late Mainwheels - Block

BarracudaCast's new late version main wheels are also 3d printed and beautifully detailed.

Raised lettering and seams are cast onto the sidewalls, while the late version wheel hubs are crisply rendered.

BR72467 - Mosquito Mk XVI Nacelles Upgrade Set

This gorgeous set supplies 26 3d printed grey resin parts.

These comprise new carburettor intakes, radiator and oil cooler intakes, lower side vents and exhausts.

The new carby intakes are very crisp and highly detailed with slotted vents and raised fasteners on both sides.

Oval-shaped guards are supplied as separate parts. Spares are also included for these delicate parts. The mounts for these are printed directly onto the front of the intakes.

The radiator and oil cooler faces feature super fine and perfectly printed mesh faces.

The exhausts look great too. A spare set of port and starboard exhausts is included.

All the exhaust stacks are hollowed out at the ends.

Installation will be straightforward, with no surgery required to the donor kits.

Full colour instructions are to be found on BarracudaCast's website

Simply beautiful!

BR72467 - Mosquito Mk XVI Landing Gear Upgrade Set

BarracudaCast's 1/72 scale Mosquito Mk XVI Landing Gear Upgrade Set comprises seven parts in grey coloured 3d printed resin.

The one-piece landing gear legs are a wonder to behold.

The anti-fouling guards are cast as part of the legs and are remarkably fine.

Mudguards and the one-piece anti-shimmy tail wheel assembly are equally well done.

A set of late-style block tread main wheels are also included.

This is a massive and highly visible improvement to the Airfix landing gear.

BR72469 - Mosquito Mk XVI Landing Flaps Down

Last but certainly not least is a set of four separate1/72 scale landing flaps.

These are designed to be shown dropped.

There are two 3d printed grey resin parts. The flaps are moulded in pairs with a single strip joining the two flaps. This clever design will ensure a robust attachment to the trailing edge of the wing and that the angles of the dropped flaps will be aligned.

A little surgery will be required to the kit wings. The moulded-in plastic flaps will need to be cut away and the removal of a couple of ribs inside the wings.
