Art Scale Kit has released quite a few decal sets for 1/48 scale Hawker Hurricane Mk.IIb and IIc kits.

Tonight we examine Part 11 - South African Air Force.

 

 

These 1/48 scale decals should fit any Hurricane Mk.IIb, but the timing is exceptionally good for the new Arma Hobby kit.

 

 

Instructions with reference and four-view illustrations are included.

Decal printing quality looks good. The decals are glossy in finish. Apparently the clear top layer of the decals may be removed after application with lighter fluid, much in the same way as recent Eduard decals.

 

 

If desired, the decal cover varnish can be removed - wash off Zippo lighter fluid.

The details of the three subjects are as follows:

  • Hawker Hurricane Mk.IIb, HL 885, 1st Squadron, South African Air Force, North Africa 1942.

  • Hawker Hurricane Mk.IIb, HL 734, 40th Squadron (Gremlin), South African Air Force, Egypt 1942, pilot Lt. Jack Orpen.
