Conclusion: These sets will give you more options for your Trumpeter F-100D kit in natural metal finish.

These sets of decals from Euro Decals for the Trumpeter 1/32 F-100D provides different schemes for 3 USAF natural metal finished aircraft in each set.

I’m going to review both sets in one review to stop the duplication of the general aspects of the sets.

 

 

Each set has one A4 sheets of decals and a smaller sheet, still 30cm x 11cm, has insignia and data stencils for one aircraft.  These early period jets luckily have a limited number of data stencils compared to later aircraft like the F-4’s hundreds of stencils.

 

 

All decal sheets are printed in house by Fantasy Printshop. Having used a set of Euro Decals before, I have found them to have an excellent print quality with great alignments and crisp details. They are also easy and fairly forgiving to apply, with them settling into detail well with an application of Micro-Sol (red). The instructions are on 4, double sided heavy paper sheets which are printed in colour with helpful annotated notes where needed. Each page has left and right, side profiles as well as upper and lower views.

The aircraft in this set are:

  1. F-100D, Bu No. 55-2796, 511 TFS/405 FBW, Langley AFB,1959 - blue tail and nose decoration.

  2. F-100D, Bu No. 53-35584, “Stinger”, 35th TFS/8th TFW, 832nd Air Division, Itazuke AFB, Japan, 1960 – black stripe tail and colour nose decoration.

  3. F-100D, Bu No. 56-3315, 492nd TFS/48 TFW, Chaumont, France, 1960 -black & white horizontal tail stripes, black chevron on nose

The aircraft in this set are:

  1. F-100D, Bu No. 55-2950, flown by Col. C BanburyWing Commander 81 TFS/50 TFW, Toul-Rosieres AFB, France, 1958- red, yellow & blue tail and nose decoration.

  2. F-100D, Bu No. 56-3417, 356 TFS/354 TFW, Aviano, Italy, 1960 – red stripes on tail and nose decoration

  3. F-100D, Bu No. 56-3020, 390 FBS/366 FBW, England AFB, USA, 1957/59 -blue and white diagonal striped tail and nose decoration,

Conclusion

 

These two sets of large decals from Euro Decals covering 3 great NMF schemes on each of the F-100D aircraft for the 1/32 Trumpeter kit.  There are a number of striking schemes which can/will make your kit pop. These Euro Decals are highly recommended.
