This 3D printed accessory comes in a neat box with the parts in two zip-lock bags sandwiched between foam sheets for protection.
A twelve-page colour A5 instruction booklet explains in great detail just how the modeller can put together this amazingly detailed engine for the D-variant Mustang.
The completed engine includes the engine, all accessories, structural supports and airframe panels. All the modeller has to do is chop off the kit nose following the cutting diagram on the first page. Some fine wiring will need to be provided by the modeller and all dimensions are given - I suspect that 0.2mm lead wire will do better than more rigid material.

The parts are resin and are supported by the usual lattice of fine rods which can be removed with sharp side-cutters or nail scissors. Some of these make useful frames for scratch-building items so I tend to remove them a bit more carefully than some of you may.

The level of detail is astounding, especially the inner surfaces of the nose structure as the photos show. The engine itself is just remarkable. Careful painting and construction will allow a magnificent open-cowling model to be the result.
I can imagine that it will take as long to build this engine as to build the rest of the kit!

Painting details are given at each of the 19 steps.

If a super-detailed 1/72 P-51 is on your wish-list then this is right up your alley and comes highly recommended - just an amazing little replica. Eduard have excelled themselves.
