Yet more choices for the Eduard P-51D kit, or any other Mustang you might have in your stash.

 

 

The sheet comes in the familiar A5 clear resealable sleeve and consists of a 135x115mm sheet of decals on a mid-blue backing sheet with no stencils as the kit should supply these. A stiffer card backing mitigates the chance of folding.

 

 

There are five choices, all from the 8th Air Force in the UK in mid-1944, although there are sufficient national markings for two aircraft. Again the kit should provide the rest.

 

 

The decals are glossy with minimal carrier film and great colour density and register. Each example is given a colour four-view scheme and decals placement drawing. The five are

  1. 44-13660, MC-B “Panty Waste” ( or is it “Party Waste”?) of Lt. K.A.Skinner , 79th FS, 20th FG in Autumn 1944 NMF overall with B&W nose decorations and toned down national markings,

  2. 44-13619, HO  “Williams Villain” of Lt. R.W.Graham , 487th FS, 352nd FG in July 1944, in NMF overall with blue nose and B&W invasion stripes on all surfaces,

  3. 44-13760, MC-Z,  “Glengary Guy” of Capt. G.M. Webb , 79th FS, 20th FG in October 1944, in NMF overall with olive drab upper fuselage and B&W nose stripes and invasion stripes on lower wing surfaces,

  4. 44-13471, 6N-J,  “Grace ” of Cape. E.M.Johnson , 505th FS, 339th FG in May 1944, in NMF overall with red and white checkered nose and B&W invasion stripes on all surfaces, and 

  5. 44-13410, E2-C  “Lou IV” of Col. T.J.J Christian, 375th FS, 361st FG in July 1944, in NMF lower surfaces, olive drab upper wings and fuselage with yellow nose and B&W invasion stripes on all lower surfaces.

 

 

A colourful set of choices and a set that comes recommended to those of you who are looking for something a bit different for your collections of 8th Air Force Mustangs.
